It is with joy and excitement that I announce the appointment of Lindsay Lacroix as the Area Youth Commissioner for Northern Lights Area, effective immediately. Lindsay is a Pack Scouter with the 1st Palmerston Group. She is currently in grade 11 and takes part in her school’s Student Council, as well as other volunteer initiatives around her community. Lindsay has been involved in the Scouting Movement for over 10 years now, and enjoys taking her youth out for new adventures. More »

Delaney is a Medical Venturer with the 1st Simcoe County MedVents Company. She is currently in grade 11, focusing her studies on business and marketing. Delaney has been involved with the Scouting Movement for over 10 years now, and strives to be a role model for younger youth. She enjoys trying new things that may be out of her comfort zone. More »

Died peacefully on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie in her 89th year. Jeannette of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Thomas Ward (January 2017). Loving mother of Sharon Lammle, William (Roxanna), Linda (Philip Stonehouse), Thomas (Sherry), Dianna (David Finnigan), Jim (Arlene) Culbertson, Robert (Helen) Parsik, Lynda (Steve McMillan) and the late Louise Parsik. We are saddened to announce that Scouter Adiran Valks (Tic-Tac) with 1st Barrie Foresters (formerly with 11th Barrie Colony) has Gone Home.  Adrian struggled one of the toughest journeys through cancer which saw raw strength and courage. A celebration of Adrian's life will be held on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at the Steckley Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St, Barrie.  Visitation is from 12:00 - 2:00 pm, followed by the service and reception. Scouters, With the completion of the current Council Scoutstracker Administrator's term, we are now in the process of onboarding the incoming Admin.   At this time we ask all Groups to stand by as we refine and improve our processes for renewing licenses.  A further communication will follow once the onboarding is complete and the renewal processes are finalized.
