What's Happening?

The idea for Atlantic Challenge began in 1984 with a philosophy built on Kurt Hahn’s belief to “impel youth into life-giving experiences”, to “train through and for the sea”, to connect those of many nations in the same boats and to seek a means of encouraging and training youth to compassionate service and community-building.

The Shining Waters Council Youth Recognition Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 17th.   Location is Camp Wildman, 299 Concession 8 W, Tiny Township.

Itinerary for the day is as follows:

10:00 am:  Set-up crew

12 Noon:  Arrival / Registration

1:00 - 3:00 pm:  Awards Ceremony

This year's event is hosted by Simcoe-Phoenix and Sunset Areas Youth Network. 

Check-In time is 9:00 am.  The event runs until approx. 2:00 pm.

This is an invitational event.  Invitees are based on results from each of the Area Rallys, consisting of the top-seven youth in each section. Registration deadline for invitees is April 5th.

There will be a cash canteen available for lunch and snacks.

The SLS Algnquin Canoe Camp is a week-long adventure for Cub Scouts and Scouts with at least one year of experience in the Scouting program, including a minimum of one overnight camp.  The camp is based at Whitefish Group Campground in Algonquin Park.
